Eighty-three officers from Albania, including seven members of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF), have successfully completed the 2025–2026 academic year at the Defence and Security College, graduating from the General Staff and Command Course and the Advanced Officer Course.

The graduation ceremony was held in Tirana and was attended by Defence Minister Ermal Nufi, Kosovo’s Ambassador to Albania Skënder Durmishi, Commander of the Defence and Security College Brigadier General Altin Kurti, as well as senior leaders of the Armed Forces.

In his speech, Minister Nufi described the graduation as the beginning of a long-term investment in the future leadership of the Armed Forces.

“The security environment in which we live has become more complex, dynamic, and unpredictable than ever before. Conventional conflicts, hybrid threats, cyberattacks, rapid technological developments, and challenges to the international order require military personnel capable of thinking strategically, cooperating with allies, and making responsible decisions for the future,” he stated.

According to the Defence Minister, military education does not end with obtaining a diploma, but is a continuous process that builds professional culture and prepares leaders to face new security challenges.

Nufi also highlighted the role of the Defence and Security College, emphasizing that the institution is becoming an important centre for professional military education, capable of preparing leaders who contribute not only at the national level but also within NATO structures and missions.

He stressed that developing human capital remains one of the priorities of the Ministry of Defence, adding that modern technology and equipment only have value when supported by professionally trained personnel.

Minister Nufi reiterated the goal of developing the Defence and Security College into a modern institution closely integrated with military academies and colleges of NATO and European Union partner countries.

At the conclusion of his remarks, he thanked international partners, college leadership, and instructors for their contribution to improving the quality of military education.

Nufi also praised the cooperation between the Armed Forces of Albania and the Kosovo Security Force, describing it as evidence of close partnership and a shared vision for strengthening defence capabilities.
