Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has warned that Russia could launch a new large-scale attack on Ukraine within the next 48 hours.
In a post on X, Zelensky said Ukrainian intelligence indicates that Moscow has prepared missiles for a new offensive.
“Please take care of yourselves and pay close attention to air raid alerts,” the Ukrainian president wrote.
The warning comes after Russian missile strikes in the Kyiv region, where at least 10 people were killed and around 100 others were injured on Friday.
According to Ukrainian authorities, the missiles struck a military technology exhibition attended by representatives of the defense industry.
Five more people were killed in separate airstrikes involving guided bombs in the city of Sloviansk.
Latvia’s Foreign Minister announced that the Latvian consulate in the city was also damaged during the bombardment.
European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs Kaja Kallas said the strike on the consulate demonstrates Moscow’s disregard for international law, while expressing the EU’s full support for Latvia.
