NATO’s Allied Joint Force Command Naples has highlighted the recent visit of its commander, Admiral George M. Wikoff, to Kosovo, describing the trip as a reaffirmation of the Alliance’s commitment to peace, stability, and operational readiness in the Western Balkans.
In a summary of the visit, the command said Admiral Wikoff met with military, civilian, and local leaders while reviewing the operational status of the NATO-led KFOR mission.
“Commander of NATO Allied Joint Force Command Naples, Admiral George M. Wikoff, recently visited Kosovo to meet with military, civilian, and local leaders. During his visit, Admiral Wikoff reviewed KFOR’s operational posture together with KFOR Commander Major General Özkan Ulutaş and visited key operational sites across the region, reaffirming NATO’s readiness, rapid response capability, and unwavering commitment to preserving peace in the region,” the command said.
The visit underscored NATO’s continued support for regional security and highlighted the Alliance’s role in maintaining a safe and secure environment in Kosovo through the KFOR peacekeeping mission.
Admiral Wikoff’s meetings and field visits focused on assessing operational preparedness, strengthening cooperation with local stakeholders, and reinforcing NATO’s long-standing commitment to stability in the Western Balkans.
