Albulena Haxhiu, in her capacity as the Speaker of the Assembly from the previous legislature, has invited members of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo to the constitutive session, which will be held on Thursday, August 6, at 10:00 AM in the plenary hall.
In the official invitation, Haxhiu called on all elected MPs to attend the session and informed them that the agenda is attached to the document, reports IndeksOnline.
The agenda includes four main points:
- Establishment of a Temporary Commission for the verification of the quorum and mandates of MPs;
- The swearing-in of members of parliament;
- The election of the Speaker of the Assembly;
- The election of Deputy Speakers of the Assembly.
Haxhiu had previously set the date for the plenary session in her capacity as Acting President of Kosovo.
The decision was based on the relevant provisions of the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo, the Law on the President, and the decision of the Central Election Commission (CEC) certifying the final results of the early parliamentary elections held on June 7, 2026.
The decision states:
“Based on Article 66, paragraph 3, Article 84 (point 3), and Article 90 of the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo, as well as the decision of the Central Election Commission dated July 8, 2026, on the certification of the final results of the early elections for the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, the first meeting of the 11th Legislature of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo is convened on August 6, 2026, at 10:00 AM.”
