Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti met Monday with the ethnomusic duo “Dina & Mel,” Dina Bushiq and Melita Ivković, at the Office of the Prime Minister, praising their contribution to preserving Arbënesh language, music and cultural heritage.
Kurti said he had the opportunity to hear the duo perform on August 8 at the “Days of the Albanian” festival in Gjakova, where they presented traditional sounds of the Arbënesh community of Zadar, Croatia.
“I thanked them for their contribution to researching, preserving and cultivating the Arbënesh language, music, culture and heritage,” Kurti said following the meeting.
According to Kurti, the discussion also focused on the development and preservation of Arbënesh heritage, as well as opportunities for strengthening cultural cooperation between Kosovo and Croatia.
He highlighted the historical and cultural links between the two countries and the potential for further cooperation in promoting and preserving shared cultural heritage.
