Albania continues to battle wildfires, although the overall situation has improved significantly over the past two days compared with the previous period.
According to the Ministry of Defense, seven wildfire hotspots were recorded across the country by 8 p.m. on Wednesday, with five still active.
Around 130 local emergency personnel are currently involved in firefighting operations, while the Armed Forces are supporting the response with 90 personnel and two Air Force helicopters.
The main active fire zones are in Dajt and Priskë in Tirana, Lufaj in Mirditë, Tërbun–Gojan in Pukë, and Shashicë in Selenicë.
Authorities said the most challenging situation is in the Tërbun–Gojan area, where strong winds have contributed to the spread of the flames.
Firefighting teams remain deployed in the affected areas, while the Fire Protection and Rescue Service is prioritizing the protection of homes and other residential properties.
Despite the continued activity, authorities said there is currently no reported threat to populated areas.
The latest assessment indicates that while wildfire conditions have eased compared with previous days, emergency services remain on alert as weather conditions, particularly strong winds, could contribute to further fire spread.
