Norway plans to allocate approximately €8 billion in aid to Ukraine in 2027, maintaining nearly the same level of support as in 2026.

According to the international news agency Reuters, the assistance will include military and humanitarian support for Ukraine, which continues to face the consequences of its ongoing war with Russia.

The announcement came as Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, together with leaders from Nordic and Baltic countries, was visiting Kyiv in a show of support for Ukraine.

Støre stressed that assistance to Ukraine should not be viewed solely as financial aid, but as an investment in Europe’s security.

“Supporting and rebuilding Ukraine is not just aid. It is an investment in Europe’s own security,” he said, according to Reuters.

The new assistance is expected to be used for military and humanitarian needs, as Ukraine continues to require substantial funding for defense, infrastructure reconstruction, and the operation of public services.

With this commitment, Norway is expected to remain among the European countries providing significant support to Ukraine in its war against the Russian invasion.
