Kosovo Customs has uncovered a case of suspected false declaration involving a shipment containing unauthorized weight-loss medicines at the Inland Customs Office at Prishtina International Airport.
During a review of the shipment’s documentation, customs officials became suspicious of the description of the goods, which had been declared as “Polycarboxylate Superplasticizer.”
A subsequent physical inspection of the package revealed that it contained medicinal products intended for weight loss.
According to Kosovo Customs, the products had not been approved for circulation on the market, and their import requires authorization from the Kosovo Agency for Medicinal Products.
The value of the seized goods was estimated at €1,775.90, excluding customs duties and taxes.
Customs authorities said they suspected that the party involved had attempted to avoid customs controls and required procedures by changing the description of the goods and submitting inaccurate information.
Procedural actions have been initiated in accordance with the legislation in force, while the case has been treated as a customs offense.
