At the start of the session, Peleshi referred to the decision of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers concerning four former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), announcing that the Albanian Parliament will adopt a statement regarding the matter.

He said the statement is being prepared by the Committee on European Affairs and Foreign Policy and is expected to convey the position of the Albanian Parliament on the Hague decision.

“Dear colleagues, before we begin with the agenda, yesterday the Kosovo Specialist Chambers announced their decision concerning four KLA leaders. This decision represents an important and painful development, not only for Kosovo, but also for our national history and collective memory. Today, through Parliament, we will present a joint statement in which we will express the position of the Albanian Parliament on this decision. The Committee on European Affairs and Foreign Policy is finalizing the details of the statement,” Peleshi said, among other remarks.
