The Kosovo Police have announced that the protest organized by the Organization of KLA War Veterans in Prishtina ended without incident.
According to the police, the protest began at 12:00 p.m. in Skënderbeu Square, while security institutions had taken the necessary measures to ensure the smooth running of the protest and maintain public order and peace.
“Recognizing citizens’ right to freely express themselves through peaceful gatherings and protests, the Kosovo Police, in accordance with their official duties, were engaged in providing security for all citizens and the protesters themselves,” the police said in a statement.
According to the police report, thousands of citizens took part in the protest, where, following several speeches, they expressed their dissatisfaction with the verdict issued by the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague against the former KLA leaders.
The police said the protest ended peacefully at around 12:40 p.m., after which participants dispersed.
Police units, however, remained in the field and continued carrying out their duties in accordance with operational plans.
