The “Not in My Name” protest continued for its 17th consecutive night in central Prishtina on Friday, with demonstrators protesting the convictions of former Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) leaders by the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague.

Protest organizer Çlirim Haziri again called on Kosovo’s Assembly and government to approve proposed amendments to the law governing the Specialist Chambers.

“Once again tonight, we are in this square until the dignity of Kosovo and the KLA is restored. Vote on the law because we do not have time to wait. Kosovo will not be calm without defending the KLA. Glory to the martyrs and the KLA,” Haziri said.

The protesters subsequently submitted their demands to Kosovo’s Ministry of Justice.

The demonstrations have been held nightly under the “Not in My Name” banner following the Specialist Chambers’ verdicts against former KLA leaders.
