A malfunction in electrical equipment at the Trepça mine in Stantërg has left 63 miners trapped underground.
Minister of Economy Artane Rizvanolli responded to the situation, saying that, based on information received from Trepça management, the miners are in good condition.
“The miners who are inside the mine following the malfunction in the electrical equipment are in good condition,” Rizvanolli said.
According to her, the miners are part of the second shift, which ends at 11:00 p.m.
Meanwhile, technical teams are working to repair the malfunction and restore the mine’s electricity supply.
Rizvanolli said that, in parallel, the gradual evacuation of the miners through the emergency exit is also being organized.

Trepça management is also at the scene, while the Kosovo Police and firefighting teams have been mobilized in response to the situation.
So far, according to information from management, no injuries have been reported, and the miners’ condition inside the mine is reported to be stable.
Technical teams continue working to eliminate the malfunction and normalize the electricity supply.
