Schools in several Serbian cities received reports of bomb threats today, prompting authorities to evacuate students and suspend classes. Police teams have begun searching the buildings to verify the threats and ensure the safety of students and staff.

In Leskovac, students were evacuated from five primary schools and one secondary school. The city’s police department confirmed to the Jugmedia news portal that the threats, as in previous cases, had been sent by email.

Among the institutions affected were the Music School in Leskovac and the “Svetozar Marković” Primary School in Vučje. Authorities are conducting inspections to determine whether the reports of explosive devices are credible, Rks News reports.

Since the morning, threatening messages have also been received by numerous primary and secondary schools in the Južna Bačka District. According to published reports, the messages were sent to the schools’ official email addresses, forcing classes to be suspended and security protocols to be activated.

Classes were also suspended at several schools in Belgrade. Meanwhile, in Novi Sad, the “Vuk Karadžić” Primary School was evacuated after receiving a similar threat.

So far, no details have been released about the individuals behind the threats or whether police searches have uncovered any explosive devices. Authorities are continuing inspections of the affected buildings.
