Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić is seeking to prevent Albanians from the diaspora from travelling to Serbia to vote in the elections scheduled for 25 October, Shaip Kamberi and Bajram Mustafa have warned.

Both are candidates for seats in the Serbian Parliament.

“Vučić said that Albanians would come from the diaspora, but that we would prevent them from doing so. This is a flagrant violation,” Shaip Kamberi said.

Meanwhile, Bajram Mustafa recalled several previous instances in which Albanians were prevented from voting.

“Previously, there were fears that Albanians would take power in Medveđa. They were prevented from entering Serbia from Kosovo. We would not be surprised if many things like this happen on 25 October. Ways and means must be found to ensure that citizens can vote freely,” Mustafa stressed.
