Kosovo’s Minister of Labour, Family and Liberation War Values, Andin Hoti, has strongly condemned remarks by Serbia’s outgoing Deputy Prime Minister Ivica Dačić, who claimed that the Serbian flag would fly in Prizren, a city in the Republic of Kosovo.

In a response published on Facebook, Hoti challenged Dačić to visit Prizren alongside Milan Radoičić, whom he described as a criminal, warning that Kosovo’s institutions would be waiting for them.

“Dačić, come to Prizren! We’re waiting for you! Bring Radoičić with you, too, because we still have unfinished business with you and people like you,” Hoti wrote, adding that members of the Kosovo Police were ready to receive them.

Hoti reaffirmed Kosovo’s statehood, stressing that Prizren is part of the Republic of Kosovo and that Serbia’s ambitions for territorial expansion had been brought to an end in 1999 by the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), with decisive support from NATO.

“Prizren is Kosovo. Kosovo is a Republic,” he declared.

In his closing remarks, Hoti directed a pointed message at Dačić, arguing that justice still had outstanding matters to address.

“Come, because Kosovo’s prisons are waiting for you. Justice still has unfinished business with you,” he wrote.

The exchange follows renewed rhetoric from Serbian officials asserting claims over Kosovo, despite Kosovo’s declaration of independence in 2008.
