Albania’s ruling Socialist Party, led by Prime Minister Edi Rama, has shared footage of the violent protests in Tirana, warning that everyone involved in the violence will be held accountable under the law.
“Everyone is accountable before the law, and whoever had a hand in this chaos will pay. Albania will never go backwards,” the party stated.
The Socialist Party added that Albanians would never again be held hostage to the past, declaring: “The future belongs to Albania and the Albanian people!”
Protests that began with students are continuing across Tirana and have now spread to other Albanian cities.
