Albanian President Bajram Begaj has addressed the ongoing protests in Albania, acknowledging citizens’ demands while condemning the violence witnessed over the past two days.
“The voice of every citizen deserves to be heard, especially that of young people, who represent our country’s hope and future. But violence is not, and can never be, the solution,” Begaj said in a video address.
He stressed that Albania needs calm, responsibility and dialogue, urging all sides to prevent tensions from undermining constitutional order and national stability. He also expressed support for law enforcement officers and wished a speedy recovery to everyone injured, both police officers and protesters.
Begaj reaffirmed his willingness to facilitate dialogue and understanding, calling on all parties to work together in the interests of young people and Albania.
