European Parliament member Viola von Cramon has welcomed reports that Serbia’s newly victorious Student List will not pursue political cooperation with Serb List in Kosovo, describing the development as a potentially significant political shift.

In a post on the social media platform X, von Cramon said the reported decision could have implications for relations between Kosovo and Serbia.

“Certainly, this is a major change. Let’s see how this could affect the overall relations between Kosovo and Serbia. But it sounds promising,” she wrote.

Her comments followed reports that no political cooperation would take place between the Student List, which won Serbia’s recent parliamentary elections, and Serb List, the main political party representing Kosovo Serbs.

Serb List governs all ten municipalities in Kosovo with Serb majorities and maintains close political ties with Belgrade.

The reported lack of cooperation could signal a change in the political relationship between Serbia’s new parliamentary leadership and Serb List, although its practical implications for Kosovo’s political landscape and bilateral relations remain to be seen.
