She also paid tribute to prominent figures this region has contributed to Albanian culture, including Pjetër Bogdani, Shtjefën Gjeçovi, Katarina Josipi and Anton Pashku.
As part of the event, the President received the “Kati’s Ring” award, describing it as a great honour and a deeply emotional moment.
On this occasion, she recalled her acquaintance with actress Katarina Josipi, known as Kati, praising her contribution as the first female actress to perform on the Albanian theatre stage.
“This ring will remain a treasured memory in my heart, and I will always be proud to wear her ring,” Shiroka-Pula stated.
She emphasised that the award holds special significance for her, as it is among the first recognitions she has received at the beginning of her presidential mandate and bears the name of one of the iconic figures of Albanian culture.
