Prime Minister Albin Kurti spoke at a government meeting about what he described as “exceptional revenue performance.”
Kurti said that for 2027, “the projected budget stands at €4.27 billion,” which he noted is “€200 million higher than the revised 2026 budget and €300 million higher than the initial 2026 budget.”
He said fiscal sustainability was being maintained “by keeping the deficit and public debt at historically low levels.”
Kurti also highlighted what he called a “transformation in the structure of revenues.”
“Whereas under previous governments, the burden of revenue collection was placed primarily on Customs, under our government domestic revenues are growing faster because the economy is expanding and employment is increasing,” he said.
Kurti said that this year Kosovo is among the economies with the fastest growth “in the region and beyond.”
“This year, despite the challenges we are facing, like the rest of the world, economic growth reached 5.4% and 4.1% in the first and second quarters, respectively. This places us among the fastest-growing economies in the region and beyond,” he said.
