Tributes are being paid in Tirana in honor of the life of Albanian writer Ismail Kadare, who passed away on July 1.
The coffin containing Kadare’s body was placed in the hall of the National Theater of Opera and Ballet in the Albanian capital.
Many citizens, including his collaborators and various public figures, are participating in the tributes.
The late writer will be buried today in the Tufina Cemetery in Tirana.
Albania was in national mourning yesterday and continues today, while Kosovo is mourning today. Kadare died at the age of 88 due to cardiorespiratory arrest.
His works were translated into more than 45 languages worldwide.
