The Prime Minister of Kosovo and the leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Albin Kurti, participated virtually in the Socialist International.
Through a video address, Kurti stated that nothing serves the peace and security of the region and Europe as much as Kosovo’s membership in the European Union and the North Atlantic Alliance.
He said, “The more the Serbian community citizens in the Republic of Kosovo are integrated, the harder it is for Serbia to achieve its vision of territorial expansion.”
“Just last year, Serbia kidnapped three policemen from within our borders, and on September 24, carried out a terrorist attack that killed one policeman, with the ultimate aim of annexing the northern part of our territory.
We are strongly committed to the values and ideas that permeate these organizations, and there is nothing that would contribute more to peace, stability, security, and democracy in the Western Balkans and Europe than Kosovo’s membership,” Kurti stated among other things.
