Albania – First Case of “West Nile Fever” Confirmed Due to Mosquito Bite, Patient Sent to Greece

A person from Lushnje has been diagnosed with the West Nile virus, which is transmitted through mosquito bites.

The 63-year-old resident of Albania has been sent to Greece for treatment, where Greek doctors have confirmed to the media in Albania that the individual is infected with the virus.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health has disinfected the area where it is suspected that the Albanian citizen was bitten by mosquitoes.

The Kosovo Institute of Public Health has also issued a warning to be cautious of mosquitoes, especially during the summer, as the West Nile virus has spread to many parts of the world.
