Official: Special Prosecutor’s Office Files Indictment for Banjskë Attack Almost a Year After the terrorist attack

The Special Prosecutor’s Office has filed an indictment related to the terrorist attack that took place in September last year in Banjskë, Zvecan, reports RKS.

The Chief Prosecutor of the Special Prosecutor’s Office, Blerim Isufaj, announced that the indictment has been filed against 45 individuals.

The indictment comes nearly a year after the attack. Prime Minister Albin Kurti has continuously criticized the Special Prosecutor’s Office for not filing the indictment sooner. The Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu, has also voiced criticisms.

The terrorist group led by Millan Radojicic attacked the Kosovo Police on September 24, 2023, killing the hero Afrim Bunjaku.

In June of this year, the Kosovo Police reported that 48 terrorists had been identified, charges had been filed against 45 individuals, local arrest warrants had been issued for 41 suspects, and 39 international arrest warrants had been issued.

The charges are based on suspicions of committing the following crimes: serious murder, attack against the constitutional order of the Republic of Kosovo, serious crimes against the constitutional order and security of the Republic of Kosovo, association for unconstitutional activities, committing terrorist acts, preparation of terrorist acts or criminal acts against the constitutional order and security of the Republic of Kosovo, money laundering, and financing of terrorism.
