Prime Minister Albin Kurti, along with the Minister for Communities and Return, Nenad Rashiq, hosted a working breakfast in Pristina with Nenad Čanak, the co-founder and former leader of the League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina, accompanied by Metropolitan Boris Bojović of the Montenegrin Orthodox Church.
The press release stated that the discussion covered current issues, regional developments, the ongoing consequences of the Russian military aggression in Ukraine, and the risks that the ongoing war poses to the security of the European continent and the Balkan region.
“Millán Čanak, the son of Nenad Čanak, who was also present at the meeting and recently returned from a humanitarian mission in Ukraine, shared his experiences and spoke about the situation on the ground, the bravery and high morale of the Ukrainian army on the battlefield, and the citizen mobilization for resistance. The meeting also discussed Kosovo’s relations with Serbia, their history, current status, and future prospects, as well as the situation of the Serbian minority in Kosovo,” the announcement said.
It was further emphasized that Kurti stated the Russian aggression against Ukraine has clearly exposed the risks that authoritarian regimes pose to neighboring states, as well as to human rights and the well-being of local populations.
He highlighted the importance of democratizing societies, party pluralism, the rule of law, the protection and promotion of human rights, and regional cooperation in addressing these risks, alongside the continued support for Ukraine in its liberating struggle – a struggle that the Republic of Kosovo is strongly supporting with all its capacities.
