The Mayor of Presheva, Ardita Sinani, stated that the European Commission’s 2024 report on Serbia highlights the discrimination faced by Albanians in the Presheva Valley.
In a Facebook post, she pointed out several important issues affecting the Albanian community in the region.
“The ‘deactivation’ of addresses and unclear control of residency status by the police. The lack of representation of Albanians in public administration and police.”
“Limited school materials and the inability to receive education in the mother tongue. We demand that Serbia act now to fulfill these obligations and guarantee our rights as equal citizens,” said Sinani.
