German Ambassador to Kosovo, Jorn Rohde, has received a special gift — a handcrafted knife from German soldiers stationed at the Bondsteel base.
According to the German Embassy’s announcement, Ambassador Rohde, a passionate knife collector, expressed his appreciation for the thoughtful gesture.
The visit, described as both informative and emotional, allowed the ambassador to learn about the operational mission at the Bundeswehr’s Camp Bondsteel, as well as the living and working conditions there. Personal conversations with soldiers of all ranks were particularly valuable, the embassy added.
During his visit, Rohde’s interest in knives was revealed, and in a show of goodwill, the soldiers presented him with a custom wooden-handled “Combat Knife 2000” as a heartfelt gift.
