The leader of the Democratic Party, Srdjan Milivojević, strongly condemned the attack on the leader of the Party of Freedom and Justice, Dragan Đilas, and Gjorge Aleksić, emphasizing that the only solution to the current situation in Serbia is the unification of all political and civil actors.
He highlighted that this is yet another proof of the willingness of “the leader of the ruling regime, Aleksandar Vučić, to do anything to maintain power, even if it means provoking large-scale conflicts in Serbia.”
“This is further evidence of Vučić’s readiness to prove that the opposition and the citizens stand no chance against his street falangists in such a conflict. However, we can see that these falangists have been dismantled in recent days and that high-ranking regime officials, like Luka Petrović, must personally fill vacant positions,” Milivojević emphasized.
Nevertheless, he noted that the number of hooligans is much smaller compared to the overwhelming majority of citizens who are raising their voices and standing up against the “octopus-like mafia-party that has enslaved Serbia.”
He concluded that the winning force of resistance lies in the unity of all political and civil forces in the current struggle and added that “the will of the citizens of Serbia for freedom and a normal life is stronger than the regime’s desire to keep them in submission, while it plunders, destroys, and sells Serbia.”
