The European Union’s Special Representative for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajčak, has provided a summary of the year’s efforts as it draws to a close. Among other things, he discussed the dialogue between the two countries, according to a report by RKS NEWS.

Lajčak made it clear that he had hoped for more progress than what was achieved.

Reflecting on the successes and setbacks encountered during meetings with Kosovo’s chief negotiator Besnik Bislimi and Serbia’s chief negotiator Petar Petković, Lajčak reiterated that there will be no EU integration without the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia.

While progress has been slower than he had hoped, Lajčak noted that what has been achieved continues to serve the best interests of the citizens of both Kosovo and Serbia.
