The Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Glauk Konjufca, stated that Kosovo remains committed to its goal of joining the Council of Europe.

On Wednesday, he hosted a delegation from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, led by Petra Bayr.

“Speaker Konjufca reiterated that the Republic of Kosovo remains committed to joining the Council of Europe, as it has been and continues to be engaged in preserving and further developing democracy in our country, protecting human rights, and strengthening the rule of law,” said the statement from the Assembly.

Konjufca also informed the delegation about the current political developments and mentioned that the electoral campaign, culminating in the parliamentary elections on February 9, is being conducted in accordance with its legal framework.

“The meeting discussed the electoral law in the Republic of Kosovo, which defines this process, as well as expectations that these elections will continue the country’s strong democratic tradition, as a nation aspiring to further development in this direction, with aspirations for membership in international and European structures,” the statement concluded.
