Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has urged emigrants to return to their homeland and invest in local opportunities. During his “Flasim” podcast on Saturday, in a conversation with a couple from Tragjasi, Vlora, who run an agritourism business, Rama emphasized the benefits of returning to Albania for those seeking better prospects.

“If their son returns to Albania and expands the business, he will earn more than he would in Germany,” said Rama. “Germany has become difficult for the Germans, let alone for us.”

The Prime Minister also revealed that a new program for financial support in agritourism will soon be announced, highlighting the benefits of investing in Albania. He explained that there are no taxes for agritourism and the VAT is only 6%. “If you are below that threshold, you don’t pay VAT. We’ll soon announce a new program that will offer financial support for these activities. It’s a combined soft loan and grant that will help you grow your business,” he added.

Rama also encouraged skilled workers, such as carpenters, to return to Albania and continue their professions, suggesting that they would have better opportunities in the country.
