Elon Musk stated that President Donald Trump agreed that the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) should be “shut down.”

“As far as USAID is concerned, I discussed this in detail with the president, and he agreed that we should close it,” Musk said early on Monday, according to CNN.

Musk mentioned that he contacted Trump “several times” and that the president confirmed he wants to close the agency, which distributes billions in humanitarian aid and development funds every year.

On Sunday evening, when asked about USAID, Trump told reporters: “It is run by a group of crazy radicals, and we are kicking them out, and then we will make a decision on it.”

Also, in a post made yesterday on the platform “X,” Musk stated that the organization is criminal and that it is time for it to “die.”

“USAID is a criminal organization. Time for it to die,” he emphasized.
