Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has firmly declared that he will “never accept any decision between the USA and Russia concerning Ukraine.” In his statement, Zelensky thanked U.S. President Donald Trump for his ongoing support but emphasized that no leader in the world can make a deal with Vladimir Putin without Ukraine’s involvement.

“I believe Putin is truly somewhat afraid of Trump, and I think Trump has this chance, and he is strong, and he could push Putin toward peace negotiations,” Zelensky remarked.

He further urged Trump to approach his discussions with Putin and other Russian leaders while remaining committed to Ukraine’s interests, stressing that Ukraine should be a priority over Russia in these talks. “I hope that we are more important,” Zelensky added.

Zelensky also highlighted the strategic significance of Ukraine, stating that although the country may not be as large as Russia, it holds greater importance to the U.S. from a strategic perspective, as both nations share common values and are partners and allies.

When asked if he believed Trump was negotiating in good faith, Zelensky expressed hope, saying, “I hope so. Yes, I rely on it.”
