European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that the building of the European institution she leads has been adorned with the colors of the Ukrainian flag.
In a post on platform X, she emphasized that this gesture was made in solidarity with Ukraine, ahead of the anniversary of the start of Russia’s war in Ukraine.
“Yellow and blue for Ukraine. The colors of resistance against imperialism. On the eve of this somber anniversary, they decorate our building as a symbol of our unwavering support for the Ukrainian people.”
“Our brave neighbors, partners, and future EU members,” Von der Leyen wrote.
