Richard Grenell, the special envoy for missions of former U.S. President Donald Trump, commented on a report by a New York newspaper, which revealed that journalists from Voice of America (VOA) are being investigated for their critical comments about Trump.

Grenell stated that VOA is funded by American taxpayers to promote U.S. policies.

“The President of the United States is Donald Trump, and his policies were voted on by the American people. If VOA staff cannot promote American policies, they should be fired. They are not independent,” Grenell wrote in a post on X.

Voice of America also operates in Albanian-speaking regions, with a special edition in the Albanian language.
