U.S. President Donald Trump has ordered the suspension of military aid to Ukraine following his Friday debate in the Oval Office with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. This was confirmed by a White House official to CNN on Monday.
According to CNN, another official stated that the suspension will apply to all military equipment that has not yet arrived in Ukraine.
“The President has been clear that he is focused on peace. We need our partners to be committed to this goal as well. We are suspending and reviewing our assistance to ensure that it is contributing to a resolution,” the White House official told CNN.
The official noted that this suspension is a direct response to what Trump perceives as Zelensky’s misbehavior last week.
They emphasized that the suspension could be lifted if Zelensky demonstrates a renewed commitment to negotiations aimed at ending the war in Ukraine.
