The Central Election Commission (CEC) announced the completion of vote counting for the February 9th elections on Wednesday evening. The next steps include a period for complaints, followed by the certification of the results.
According to the CEC’s data, Lëvizja Vetëvendosje (LVV) secured 396,022 votes, or 42.27% of the total, and will have 48 seats in the Assembly. As the governing party for the past four years, LVV faces challenges in forming a government without a coalition. Additionally, Albin Kurti, the party’s candidate for prime minister, became the most-voted individual in Kosovo’s history, with over 337,000 votes.
The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) secured 196,353 votes (20.96%) and will have 24 seats in the Assembly.
The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) garnered 171,249 votes (18.28%) and will have 20 seats.
The AAK-Nisma Coalition received 66,226 votes (7.07%) and will be represented by eight deputies.
For the first time, Lista Serbe will not have its traditional 10 seats. The party, which is supported by the official Belgrade government, will now have nine deputies. One seat from the Serbian community was won by Nenad Rašić’s party, which previously had a ministerial role in Kurti’s second government.
