Kosovo’s Correctional Service welcomed 111 new cadets as part of its 45th generation of officers, reinforcing the country’s justice and security systems. Prime Minister Albin Kurti emphasized that their graduation is not merely a ceremony but a testament to Kosovo’s commitment to a strong, fair, and secure correctional system.

“With this new generation, we further strengthen our correctional system, ensuring justice and order in our institutions,” Kurti stated. He highlighted investments in security infrastructure, specialized units, and rehabilitation programs for inmates.

Justice Minister Albulena Haxhiu underscored the strategic importance of the Correctional Service, describing it as a vital mechanism for public safety and legal integrity. She noted that Kosovo’s efforts have been recognized in international reports, including those from the Council of Europe and the U.S. State Department.

The government has also prioritized gender inclusion, with 100 women joining the service in the past four years, demonstrating that the security sector is not exclusive to men.

Correctional Service Director Ismail Dibrani reported a significant increase in security measures, with contraband prevention cases rising from 100 to 500 in the last three years. “Correctional officers are not just enforcers of rules but guarantors of security and rehabilitation,” Dibrani said.

The event reaffirmed Kosovo’s dedication to strengthening the rule of law and ensuring a more secure future.
