Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau became emotional during a press conference following reports of an insulting phone call with U.S. President Donald Trump.

As reported by The Telegraph, during one of his final public appearances as a leader, he called on the nation “to rise up against a trade partner that is much bigger than us.”

After a week of conflicts with Trump over tariffs, the two leaders spoke on a 50-minute phone call on Wednesday, which Trudeau described as “alive.”

“We are at a moment now when Canada has a very, very strong negotiating position, because Canadians are so united in defending our country, to protect our fellow citizens, and being very, very determined that this is an absolutely unjustifiable and unjust trade war initiated by the Americans, and that is what we will continue to do,” he said.
