In today’s Government session, Kosovo’s cabinet approved an initiative to establish a general security agreement with Slovenia, aimed at the mutual exchange and protection of classified information.

Prime Minister Albin Kurti stated that this agreement is a significant step impacting several aspects. “In line with the strategic priorities of the Republic of Kosovo, strengthening international cooperation, and meeting European and broader security standards, the Agency for the Protection of Classified Information (AMIK) has initiated relationships with counterpart authorities, especially from EU and NATO member states,” Kurti said. “As a result, AMIK has taken necessary steps to establish contacts with the National Security Authority (NSA) of Slovenia, which has led to mutual agreement and readiness from both parties to advance towards securing the general security agreement.”

The agreement focuses on improving bilateral cooperation, securing classified information, enhancing institutional capacities, and supporting Kosovo’s Euro-Atlantic integration process.
