An ambulance driver from Koçan tragically passed away this morning after spending the entire night transporting the injured from the devastating fire in a nightclub in this eastern Macedonian town.
The driver, a long-time employee of the Koçan Emergency Services, was identified as Ile Gocevski.
According to the news outlet “Metropola,” Gocevski died in the late hours of this morning after returning home to rest following a long and difficult day of transporting victims.
It’s important to note that the horrific fire, which broke out on Sunday just before 3 a.m., affected 1,500 people at the “Puls” nightclub in Kočani. The fire resulted in 155 injuries, and at least 59 people lost their lives.
Eyewitnesses reported that the nightclub building had only one exit, which was quite small, while the fire spread rapidly.
