The Minister of Defense, Ejup Maqedonci, emphasized that the terrorist group responsible for the attack in Banjska in September 2023, which aimed at annexing part of Kosovo, remains free and supported by Serbia, posing a significant risk to the stability of Kosovo.
In an interview with RTK, Maqedonci stressed that it is unacceptable for this terrorist group to still be free and supported by Serbian security structures.
“This terrorist group continues to be protected and supported by security structures in Serbia, often stationed not far from the border with Kosovo, and has continuous links with individuals and groups in the northern part of our country. This is a constant threat to the security of Kosovo, especially in the northern part,” said Maqedonci.
Maqedonci also emphasized that Serbia has an international obligation to extradite the terrorists to Kosovo, where the crime was committed.
He stated that Serbia’s attempts to continue its hegemonic policy towards Kosovo, denying the existence of the state of Kosovo and contributing to the destabilization of the region, are unacceptable.
“Through hybrid warfare and support for armed groups, Serbia is contributing to the destabilization of Kosovo and other neighboring states. This is an ongoing action that undermines security and stability in the region,” Maqedonci concluded.
