Germany’s Mission in NATO: Kosovo and the Western Balkans Remain a Strategic Priority

Kosovo, as a peaceful, stable, and multi-ethnic country, remains a strategic priority for Germany, stated Germany’s Mission to NATO.

According to a statement made by the mission, Germany’s commitment to security and stability in the region, including Kosovo, is unwavering.

The German Mission to NATO emphasized the key role of KFOR and the NATO Liaison and Advisory Team (NALT) in maintaining security and stability in Kosovo.

They noted that Germany currently has more than 300 soldiers serving within these two NATO missions.

Additionally, the German Mission announced that the country has extended its commitment of the German operational company within KFOR until 2027.

According to the statement, at this stage, Germany does not plan to increase the number of its troops in KFOR but continues to support stability and security in Kosovo and the Western Balkans.
