The Kosovo Police has detained and escorted several Serbian pilgrims in Gjakova and Prizren yesterday and today, reports Rks News.
Regarding the case, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, has reacted and revealed the connections of the arrested individuals with the main suspect for the murder of police officer Afrim Bunjaku.
“Preliminary investigations have confirmed that a Serbian police officer with the rank of sergeant has close family ties with an active member of the Banjska terrorist group, Nemanja Radivojević, also known as ‘Gandi’. The latter is closely related to Vladimir Radivojević, known as ‘Mami’, who is the main suspect for the murder of Kosovo police officer Afrim Bunjaku. Another military officer, holding the rank of first-class captain, is linked to the former Serbian military intelligence general, Jovan Milanović, known for his involvement in leaking NATO data before the bombing of Serbian targets,” said Sveçla.
Sveçla’s full post:
In a joint operation conducted by our security organs on April 5 and April 6, 2025, a total of 16 individuals were detained, split across four vehicles with Kragujevac, Serbia license plates. The structure of those detained was mixed, with four of them being active officers of Serbia’s security services.
According to preliminary data, it is suspected that these groups were tasked with gathering information on potential targets, as evidence of connections with Serbian military intelligence structures and members of the Banjska terrorist group was found.
The first group, consisting of four people, was detained in Gjakova. During the vehicle search, the following was found: photographs with maps of the Republic of Kosovo, photos of terrorists killed during the attack in Banjska, two knives, a machete, and a rotating light. By the prosecutor’s order, the individuals were detained for a 48-hour period.
The second group, consisting of 12 people, was detained in Prizren while they were sheltering at the Orthodox Seminary of Bogosllavija. Among this group, there were two active officers of the Serbian security services.
Preliminary investigations have confirmed that a Serbian police officer with the rank of sergeant has close family ties with Nemanja Radivojević, a member of the Banjska terrorist group. Another military officer with the rank of first-class captain is linked to Jovan Milanović, the former Serbian military intelligence general, known for his involvement in leaking NATO data prior to the bombing of Serbian targets.
The fact that they were sheltered in the Orthodox Seminary of Bogosllavija could suggest an attempt to exploit religious institutions for camouflage or to incite inter-ethnic/religious tensions in Kosovo by using fabricated events to provoke violent reactions or riots.
The security organs will continue their investigations and will inform the public about further developments.
We urge citizens to report any suspicious activities and cooperate closely with our security institutions.
