Osmani Celebrates International Romani Day with the United Roma Party of Kosovo

On the occasion of International Romani Day, the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, met with a delegation from the United Roma Party of Kosovo, led by Mr. Albert Kinolli.

President Osmani congratulated Chairman Kinolli and all citizens of the Roma community in Kosovo, highlighting the importance of this day for reflecting on both the challenges and achievements, as well as reaffirming the institutional commitment to the rights and equality of the Roma community.

During the meeting, the President praised the contribution of the Roma representatives and the community as a whole in building a fairer, more equal, and inclusive society, considering their voice as essential in the democratic processes of the country.

Emphasizing her continued commitment to empowering non-majority communities in Kosovo, President Osmani appreciated the work of the Consultative Council for Communities and other mechanisms aimed at enhancing participation and advancing the rights of these communities, with particular focus on the Roma community.

The President underscored that education remains one of the key priorities in empowering young Roma, especially girls and women, through programs that improve access and inclusion in the education system.

She added that the commitment to equality should not be limited to education, but also extend to creating equal opportunities for employment and active involvement in the public and institutional life of the country.
