The Acting Speaker of the Kosovo Assembly, Glauk Konjufca, declared that they will not allow the government to be placed in an inappropriate position by the demands of non-majority communities.
Konjufca stated that it is important to distinguish between requests, needs, and conditions, emphasizing that “Kosovo does not accept conditions.”
According to him, any demands that, in their assessment, go beyond reasonable bounds of the legal and constitutional context will be unacceptable.
He added, “I think that non-majority communities will be part of the government. Some of them have made various requests, but I believe we need to distinguish between requests, needs, and conditions. Kosovo does not accept conditions. Any requests from representatives of different communities that, in our judgment, go beyond reasonable bounds of the legal and constitutional context will be impossible for us, if not unacceptable. Therefore, our aim is to respect their interests and rights, but always with an effort to offer a program that advances their achievements. We will sit down and talk with them, but not based on any principle that would put the government in an inappropriate position for momentary gains or with exaggerated demands, as I see from some of these community representatives,” he said in an interview with Tëvë1.
