Albania will hold its fourth intergovernmental conference with the European Union on April 14, as officially confirmed by the European Council.
During this session, negotiations will open for Chapter Group 2, which focuses on the internal market. A press conference is scheduled to follow at 19:15 CET.
So far, Albania has already started work on:
- Chapter Group 1: Rule of law
- Chapter Group 6: External relations
During her recent visit to Albania, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Kaja Kallas, expressed optimism about the country’s EU path, stating:
“It is entirely possible that Albania could be a member of the EU by 2030.”
She praised the progress in reforms but emphasized that implementation, particularly in terms of rule of law, is crucial for successful integration.
