Fajon: It Is Geostrategically Necessary to Support Western Balkans Candidates on Their EU Path

Slovenian Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon stated that during an informal meeting with the foreign ministers of the Western Balkans, an agreement was reached that it is geostrategically necessary to support the region’s candidates on their path toward the European Union by 2030.

“We all agreed around the table that it is a geostrategic necessity to assist the countries on their way to the European Union by 2030,” Fajon said regarding the dinner with the Western Balkans’ top diplomats, held on Sunday in Luxembourg and organized by the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Kaja Kallas.

After arriving at the EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting in Luxembourg today, Fajon also stated that the political situation in Serbia was discussed during the dinner with the region’s foreign ministers.
