Fatmir Limaj, leader of the Social Democratic Initiative (NISMA), stated today that his party has not entered into any political agreement with any party so far. Speaking to journalists, Limaj also denied receiving any formal letter from Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) leader Ramush Haradinaj, who earlier expressed concerns over Limaj’s “premature and surprising” political positioning.
“I have not received any letter from anyone, nor have I seen any agreement or meeting that suggests otherwise. If there was a meeting, I missed it,” Limaj said. “We have no political agreement with anyone. Whoever approaches us, we are ready to sit and talk,” he added, emphasizing that NISMA remains open to discussions with both the ruling parties and the opposition.
Limaj stressed that NISMA’s priority is to help form Kosovo’s institutions. “NISMA has no agreement with anyone as of today. We are ready to help Kosovo establish its institutions. What happens next, we will see tomorrow,” he stated.
Earlier this morning, Haradinaj criticized Limaj, calling any support for the government by Limaj’s party a “shameful move.” Haradinaj claimed that he had sent a letter expressing his concerns directly to Limaj, warning that early alignments complicate the opposition’s efforts to form a parliamentary majority.
“We toured the entire country asking for a vote for change. His early positioning is a shameful departure,” Haradinaj said.
