The leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Lumir Abdixhiku, spoke on the show Debat Plus on RTV Dukagjini regarding Duda Balje’s request for the formation of a municipality for the Bosniak community.

According to Abdixhiku, the practice of political bartering to form a government must come to an end.

“This logic of making bargains, of giving something just to get one vote, must stop. This doesn’t lead anywhere. If such demands are made for a single vote, then there will be no government,” Abdixhiku said.

He emphasized that local government reorganization should not be used as a tool in political negotiations.

“We shouldn’t enter into municipal reorganization just because of government talks. That process needs to be rational. Many municipalities that were created this way are now non-functional — they’re unsustainable, without clear roles or stability,” he added.
